Diane Emiko Takei (Lila)

Diane Emiko Takei is best known as a theater actress having worked on Off Broadway and at regional theaters around the country. Among the theaters she has worked at include: Mark Taper Forum, Manhattan Theatre Club, South Coast Repertory, Seattle Repertory, East West Players, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Asian American Theater Co. Plays include Philip Kan Gotanda's The Wash, A Song For A Nisei Fisherman, Fish Head Soup, WakakoYamauchi's And The Soul Shall Dance, David Henry Hwang's Sleeping Beauties and others. Ms. Takei has starred in Wakako Yamauchi's And The Soul Shall Dance for PBS' Hollywood Television Theater. She has also appeared Gotanda's short films, The Kiss and Drinking Tea, as well as in Visual Communication's Hito Hata, the first full length feature film written, directed and produced by Asian Americans.
