Sab Shimono (Harry Sado)

Sab Shimono has a long-standing relationship with Philip Kan Gotanda. Their first project together was the musical "Avocado Kid." He then starred in the pay "The Wash," first playing the suitor and some years later playing the father. After the play became a film, Mr. Shimono toured the nation with "Yankee Dawg You Die," picking up a Hershfeld for his effort. As the father in "The Wash," Mr. Shimono was nominated for the New York Drama Desk Award. Since then, Mr. Shimono has played "father" in Mr. GotandaÕs other projects "Fish Head Soup" and "Ballad of Yachio." In "Life Tastes Good", the "father" portrayed by Mr. Shimono is unlike any father he has tackled for Mr. Gotanda.

A veteran of the stage, Mr. Shimono performed with the original cast of "Mame" with Angela Lansbury, and in Steven SondheimÕs "Pacific Overtures." He has also performed in many off Broadway productions. His film credits include "The Big Hit," "Paradise Road," "Waterworld," "The Shadow," "Presumed Innocent," "Come See the Paradise," "Gung Ho," and the Sundance winner for best photography, "Suture," among others. His television credits include "And the Soul Shall Dance," "Hot Summer Winds," "X-Files," "ER" and others. Mr. Shimono has also starred in Mr. GotandaÕs shorts, "Drinking Tea" and "Otto."

Mr. Shimono studied acting with Stella Adler in New York.
